Confusion in Choosing Voltage Stabilizer for Home & Industry?
Key Factors to Consider:
Looking like a technical topic. But don't afraid. Even a non tech guy can also choose the right voltage stabilizer for his home, commercial property or his industry. There are two conditions when you may plan or have single phase connection and second you are planning for three phase or having three phase connection and willing to install stabilizer at your location - 1. For Single Phase connection. 2. For Three Phase connection. If you have single phase connection and expecting to choose the right capacity of stabilizer then following things need to be consider: 1. Add all the loads (Consider load chart for reference). 2. Divide the above load by 0.8, as Stabilizer is rated in KVA. 3. Again divide the value by 0.8 as stabilizer or every equipment should run at 80% load, taking safety factor into consideration. 4. The value you arrived is the actual capacity of stabilizer you require. If otherwise you are having the three phase connection and expecting to choose the right capacity of stabilizer then following things need to be consider: Identify all the three phase loads and add all of them. The important thing in three phase machine is that all three phase share the equal loads. Further, identify all the single phase loads followed by on which phase the load is connected. This is really a complicated thing. No worries... Just check your energy meter through which the meter reading is collected. Start your full load and then press the push button of energy meter. Push the button again and again till the current of R phase, Y Phase and B phase is displayed. Note down the current values of each phase. Just remember one thing: 1KW= 4.34A, i.e if your energy meter is showing some value around 17.4A then you can say that you have around 4kW load in a phase. So try to identify the load in kW similarly for each phase. Divide the above load by 0.8, as Stabilizer is rated in KVA 3. Again divide the value by 0.8 as stabilizer or every equipment should run at 80% load, taking safety factor into consideration. 4. The value you arrived should be multiply by 3 which is the actual capacity of 3 phase stabilizer you require.
